As winter continues on, you might notice that you’re feeling down and just… blah!
If you’re in a bit of a funk, the second part of our “New Year, New You” 30-Day Challenge might be what you need to pull out of it.
After all, sometimes the best thing to do to get your groove back is to just get out there and do something!
You don’t have to spend money to do it either.
Donate the most precious thing you have. While not an ‘event’ in the true sense, volunteering is a wonderful way to give back to your community and teach your kids the importance of helping others.
Why not volunteer weekly at your local food bank? If you lean more towards the introverted side, you could also knit scarves and mittens (or just collect some) for a local mission?
You can make a goal of two or three items a week to help keep you busy this winter.
X marks the spot. Have you heard of Geocaching? It’s an outdoor activity that you can use your GPS-enabled phone to play – it’s a modern-day free treasure hunt! It’s a trendy hobby for families with older children. I’ll bet there is a hidden treasure in your area, wherever you may live!
Keep gaming. Thanks to my last email, you already know how gaming can take you outside. But what if it’s just too darn cold?
Bring the games back inside!
Why not have a retro game night with your friends or kids? Bust out your old Atari or Nintendo and get nostalgic with your young ones! If you don’t have an old console, break out a classic board game. Make it a biweekly event; everyone can bring a snack or beverage to turn it into a potluck evening.
Today’s challenge is another choose your own adventure: either invite someone over for a game night (board and video games both count!) or sign up to volunteer for a cause that you care about.
Even if you go in circles trying to find buried treasure while geocaching, you can find treasure right where you are – with a strong financial plan.
I’d love to give you the coordinates to success. Give me a call at 513-563-PLAN (7526) or reach out online to receive a free 15-minute financial consultation.
