Here’s a trend that literally no one wants to be a part of:

The boomer generation is not retiring when they deserve to.

Remember the old dream where you ride merrily off into the sunset the day you turn 65?

Where you’d trade your 9-5 for whirlwind cruises, bingo games, spoiling the heck out of your grandkids, or maybe just relaxing on your front porch in a comfortable rocking chair to enjoy the beautiful summer weather?

Yep – that’s in the past. People are working into their 70s and even 80s! There are a few reasons for this.

1) They love their job, and they don’t want to quit ← I can almost hear many of you laughing all the way from my office – I get it, this is probably not the case).

2) Their identity is wrapped up in work, and they want to feel valued. ← maybe.

3) Work provides companionship and social interaction. ← Other than a few people you genuinely like, probably not worth going to work for.

Let’s face it, we all know the biggest reason people aren’t retiring.

… They don’t have the money for it.

This is what happens when you don’t have a solid plan for retiring when you want to retire.

“If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.”

Ironic that Ben Franklin said that.

I’m not judging you – everyone’s got different priorities at different stages of life. You might even think that retirement is so far off that planning at this point is overkill.

I promise you, it’s not.

I am here to help you navigate these challenges so that you don’t have to put off the best years of your life.
