“We do not have government by the majority. We have government by the majority who participate.”
-Thomas Jefferson

It’s all over the news, and I very much doubt you’ve been able to avoid it.

Yup – today is election day! Did you register? And more importantly – are you going to get out there and vote?

Before you head to the voting booth, check out these stats:

  • The highest rate of voting within the eligible population was way back in 1876 where an astounding 81.8% made their opinion known on Election Day!
  • On the opposite end, only 48.9% of people who could vote actually did in the year 1924 – maybe people took the Roaring Twenties too seriously and were having too much fun to vote.
  • Surprising no one, most voters are over 65 (71% in 2016), with those under 29 being least likely to vote (46%). My goodness, I hope that changes!
  • Females are more likely to register and turn out (69% and 56% respectively). Men came in at 65% and 52%.

Regardless of where you stand or what party you support, there’s never been a more important time to get out there and make your opinion known. We are living in strange times. Remember this:

“If you don’t vote, you lose the right to complain.”
-George Carlin

Even if the results don’t pan out in your favor, you’re adding one voice and more weight to your side if you vote. So please – get out there today if you’re on the fence. Don’t get caught up in feeling like your vote doesn’t matter. It does.

Speaking of the future – let’s talk about your financial future if it’s been awhile. Call 513-563-PLAN (7526) or book online today (after you vote)!
