Imagine it’s the end of a long, tough day at the office.
The boss has been “the BOSS”…
Co-workers have been less than co-operative…
Deadlines came, went, continued…
Even if you’re NOT making that grueling commute down jam-packed freeways, it’s still can seem a tough slog to take the stairs from your ramshackle basement office to the family room.
You just need a break. So you decide to take a quick, hot shower to unwind.
But there’s one more decision to be made:
“What to drink?”
Long acclaimed by college students, drinking in the shower has gone mainstream.
The first inklings of this trend appeared in a 2019 Coors ad, which declared Coors Light “the official beer of drinking in the shower.”
A recent article in the Wall Street Journal ups the ante on the “shower beer” with its piece “Are You Missing Out On… Shower Cocktails?” Detailing the trend, it even provides a handy recipe for the author’s preferred refreshment:
- The Shower Paloma – a tasty blend of tequila, Aperol, grapefruit juice, lime juice, and a splash of club soda.
Of course, there are risks to imbibing in the shower – glass bottles easily shatter, and the slick tile surface doesn’t provide the surest of footing to anyone more than just a tad under the influence.
Nevertheless, with an eye to caution and moderation, this may well be something to consider some hot summer day to kick off the perfect weekend.
