It’s nice and early in the evening. You tell yourself that you’re going to go to bed at a decent hour, but before you know it, you’re five episodes into Yellowstone, and it’s 2am.
When did you have to get up again – 7, or was it 8? If you go to sleep right now, you can still get 6 hours of sleep.
Oh, what’s one more episode?
By the time that alarm goes off at 8, you’re running on fumes.
Sure, you can slam back some coffee (or tea if you prefer), but you’re probably going to crash at some point. There is a lot to be said about just getting a good night’s rest.
Most adults need 7 or more hours of sleep to consider themselves “well-rested.”
When there aren’t enough hours in the day to get everything done, this stat seems a bit harder to stomach.
There have been numerous studies on the benefits of being well-rested. Adequate sleep decreases stress and fatigue and improves focus. You could finally knock out that big project with minimal trips to the water cooler for absolutely no reason other than you’d rather look at anything else.
It’s also been known to impact your decision-making abilities and boost your immunity. Kind of important right now.
Remember: adding two (or even one more) hours to your sleep routine can make all the difference.
