Ready for a mental pause?

This British phrase has been running through my mind lately: Keep calm and carry on.

I checked out the origins of the phrase since many have adapted it to fit a variety of memes. Some favorites:

Keep Calm and Carry On My Wayward Son

Keep Calm and Carrion On

Keep Calm and Empty the Dishwasher If Finished

Keep Calm and Sink the Putt

Keep Calm I’ve Never Done This Before

Keep Calm and Carry Yarn

The phrase was initially featured on a motivational poster produced by the British government in 1939 to prepare the public for World War II. It was intended to raise their morale since they knew they would be targets for mass air attacks.

When I remember what they went through—and still “carried on”—I’m inspired. I also am inspired when I think of this country’s response to an attack on our own soil 19 years ago on this day.

I  know we’re living in an unusual time. We’re dealing with more change than usual, and it can be confusing. We’re here to listen and guide you through choppy waters. If there’s one thing we know, it’s this: you need to keep calm during these times and avoid making hasty decisions you might regret later.

If you need someone to listen, make an appointment so we can review your portfolio and discuss your options. Maybe we’ll serve some tea and crumpets along the way. (What exactly is a crumpet, anyway?)

Well, if our local grocery store doesn’t have them, chocolate chip cookies will do. Let’s take a breath, take a sip of tea, and keep on keepin’ on. Call us today at 513-563-PLAN (7526) or book online.
