With all due respect to author Gabriel García Márquez, finding love during the coronavirus pandemic is a heckuva lot harder than in his book, Love in the Time of Cholera.
For example, a 30-year-old single New York man decided to take a novel approach toward finding a relationship.
He plastered a bunch of bizarre flyers in Central Park from a “healthy, attractive and well-employed man” looking for a “germ-free, healthy, fit and clean” woman interested in a monogamous relationship.
Why not go online to search for a potential mate?
In his words, he’s an outdoorsy, athletic guy. He figured that if he posted the flyers along the running trails in Central Park, he’d catch the eye of a few good candidates who were equally outdoorsy and athletic.
Smart marketing!
The single man says it’s a more targeted way to find the type of woman who would be interested in a long-term relationship with him.
It might not sound romantic, but it seems to be working. He’s received plenty of messages from “high-quality women” and is looking forward to some interesting “six-feet-apart dates.”
It’s amazing how creative people can get during these unusual times. But it’s also encouraging to know that at least one lonely guy looks like he might find love in spite of it.
