Oh, somewhere in this favored land the sun is shining bright;
the band is playing somewhere, and somewhere hearts are light,
and somewhere men are laughing, and somewhere children shout;
but there is no joy in Mudville — mighty Casey has struck out.

– “Casey at the Bat: A Ballad of the Republic Sung in the Year 1888” by Ernest Thayer.

Those of us who are baseball fans? We’re sobbing into our MLB jerseys. There is no joy when baseball games are postponed in America.

Baseball may have its roots in the English game called “rounders” or “four-old-cat.” A picture published in a children’s magazine featured the title “Base-ball” in 1760 and shows players standing at the bases with one holding a ball.

The features of the game were like today’s game. But there was one major difference.

The fielder put the batter out by hitting him with the ball. Ouch!

They finally decided that maybe it was better to tag a player with the ball rather than throwing the ball at him. I’m sure the players were happier.
Sometimes a minor tweak can make all the difference in the world.

At Money & Clarity, we’re all about tweaking a client’s portfolio when it’s appropriate to do so. We look at the markets and consider how and why ongoing changes in valuations are relevant or not for their long-term strategy.

We’re proud that we’ve earned our client’s trust when it comes to considering another approach. Because we know when it comes to your retirement, you want a winning team to get you safely to the home plate.

Call us today at 513-563-PLAN (7526) or book online for a portfolio analysis. Although we can’t enjoy a season of baseball just yet, we believe we’ll find a way to knock it out of the park. And maybe give you a bag of peanuts for the trip home.
