If you’re a fan of mysteries and mysterious places, here’s one you may not have heard of… it’s called “The American Stonehenge.”

It was featured by The Travel Channel in an episode entitled:  “Mysteries at the Museum: Monumental Mysteries Special.”

Known as “The Georgia Guidestones,” you’ll find it near a small town about 90 miles from Atlanta, Georgia – and no one knows who built it or what they intended it to mean.

It’s a huge granite monument, engraved with 10 mysterious “commandments” or “guidelines,” written in eight different languages.  The granite company that built it in 1980 claims the project was under the direction of someone going by “RC Christian.”

But that’s about all we know for sure.

Of course, there’s more than a few notions and conspiracy theories surrounding the monument.  Some claim it’s an altar for sun worshippers.  Others theorize it’s for some kind of cult.

And one popular interpretation believes that the inscriptions are simply a set of basic ideas necessary to rebuild civilization after some global catastrophe.

Mysteries like this can be fun – but when it comes to managing your portfolio, most people want something a bit more down to earth. Reliable. Predictable. Safe. Secure. No mystery there, just common-sense investing.
