A guy down the street from me owns a successful business. If I had to guess, each year he generates multi-million dollar revenues.

But every few days I see him outside tending to his lawn.

Pushing the mower, trimming the hedges – weeding that frustratingly hard to get rid of quack grass.

Seems normal enough, right?

Well, I asked him once why he didn’t just hire a service to take care of the lawn for him.

And the answer ultimately came down to him not wanting to pay for it.
He considered himself too ‘cheap.’

But…

Let’s flip that around.

By spending hours each week doing something he didn’t really enjoy, he was robbing himself of time he could be investing in his business – or – spending with his family.

Now, if he genuinely enjoyed pulling weeds, then it wouldn’t matter.

But I can hear him cursing from a few houses down!

My point?

Many people think it’s a waste to spend their money on services they could do themselves.

I prefer to think of it as investing in the right people to buy back your own time.

Let specialists do what they do best, and you enjoy the time you’ve got in whatever way makes you happy.
